Who we are

ISI Event Hub is built and run by onklabs for the ISI Asia ice skating community. onklabs is responsible for the data described here. If you have a question about this policy, email [email protected].

What we collect

The app sends a small amount of technical data to Google Firebase while you use it. None of it includes your name or contact details.

Usage data

Firebase Analytics records which screens you open and a few in-app actions, such as a failed admin sign-in or a prompt to update the app. Along with each event, Firebase adds:

• a random app-instance ID that resets if you reinstall the app
• your device model, operating system and app version
• your approximate region, estimated from your IP address (the IP itself isn't stored)
• session details such as when you opened the app and for how long
• on Android, your device's advertising ID, which Firebase may read automatically. We don't use it for ads or share it with ad services, and you can reset or delete it in your device settings.

Crash and performance data

If the app crashes or hits an error, Firebase Crashlytics sends a report with the technical details: what went wrong, the device and OS, and the app version. Firebase Performance Monitoring measures how long screens and downloads take.

Version check

When the app starts, it checks with Firebase Remote Config whether your version is still supported. If it isn't, you'll be asked to update.

What we don't collect

• Names, email addresses, phone numbers or any account details
• Precise location
• Contacts, calendar, camera, microphone or files on your device
• Payment information (the app is free)

The admin area

Organisers publish content through a password-protected admin area. Access passwords are shared by role, not tied to a person. Signing in starts an anonymous session, and the only extra thing we record is the access level (for example, "master") alongside usage and crash data.

Files that admins upload, such as PDFs and photos, become public content inside the app.

Photos and published content

News, schedules, results and photo albums are published by ISI Asia's organisers. Competition photos may show skaters, coaches and spectators. If you appear in a photo and want it removed, email us the event name and a short description of the photo, and we'll take it down.

How we use it

• To keep the app running and secure
• To find and fix crashes and slow screens
• To understand which parts of the app people use, so we know what to improve
• To make sure everyone is on a version that still works

We don't use this data for advertising or to build profiles of individual people. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a working, reliable app. Where local law requires consent, you can manage it through your device settings.

Who processes it

We use Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, Remote Config, Authentication, Firestore and Cloud Storage) to run the app. Google processes this data on our behalf and may store it outside your country, under its own safeguards. You can read how Firebase handles data.

We don't share or sell data to anyone else.

How long we keep it

Data on your device

The app keeps a cache of images and documents so they load faster. On Android, your device backup may include this app data, depending on your backup settings. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to your data, to have it deleted, or to object to how we use it. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Because we don't know who you are, we usually can't match data to you. If you'd like us to try, email us with your device model and roughly when you used the app. You can also reset your device's analytics identifiers or uninstall the app at any time.

Children

ISI Event Hub is an information app suitable for all ages. It doesn't ask anyone, including children, for personal information. If you think a child's personal information has ended up in published content, contact us and we'll remove it.

Links to other sites

Some news items link to other websites, and documents may open in another app. Those sites and apps have their own privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app store release notes.
